Valley Hope Addiction Treatment and Recovery Opens New Wichita Outpatient Center

New center will improve access to high quality SUD treatment, help address Wichita’s opioid epidemic.

(WICHITA, KANSAS) — National provider Valley Hope Addiction Treatment and Recovery will open a new specialized substance use disorder (SUD) outpatient center in Wichita on January 10, 2023.

Valley Hope of Wichita’s SUD treatment services include a dual diagnosis intensive outpatient program (IOP), continuing recovery care, online IOP, family care, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) if needed. MAT is a medical and therapeutic intervention that uses FDA-approved medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a whole-patient approach to the treatment of opioids and alcohol addiction.

“Over the last two years, Wichita has experienced a rise in addiction rates among all substances, including alcohol, methamphetamines, and opioids,” Crystal Norman, Valley Hope of Central Kansas Executive Director, said. “And now, the opioid epidemic is increasingly fatal, fueled by the emergence of fentanyl. Valley Hope’s new Wichita center will help combat the addiction and overdose crisis in our community by providing access to the highest-quality outpatient SUD treatment.”

Norman said the new location expands access to Wichita-area patients and families seeking high quality, intensive addiction treatment, including MAT, while they continue to live at home and maintain family responsibilities and work schedules. Valley Hope of Wichita offers convenient options for treatment, including morning, evening, and online programs.

Valley Hope also provides residential addiction treatment in nearby Moundridge, Kansas. The Wichita outpatient center also provides services including recovery support, relapse prevention, and individual therapy.

“Our dual diagnosis outpatient program also serves as a vital steppingstone during the transition from inpatient treatment to everyday life in recovery,” Norman said.

Valley Hope Addiction Treatment and Recovery has served the state of Kansas since 1967. In five decades, the innovative, nationally certified, treatment provider has expanded to 19 residential and outpatient programs in seven states. The organization has served more than 330,000 patients and families.
