Valley Hope receives Daniels Fund grant

Valley Hope was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the Daniels Fund of Denver to support continuing care programs for Colorado residents. The grant will be active for 12 months, starting in May 2018, and will provide at least 65 patients with financial assistance. This is the second such grant awarded by the Daniels Fund to Valley Hope.

Valley Hope, a drug and alcohol addiction treatment organization, operates a residential treatment facility in Parker and outpatient center in Denver, in addition to 14 additional facilities in six other states. Continuing care programs focus on outpatient treatment and can include intensive outpatient therapy (IOP); individual and group therapy; relapse prevention therapy; and family counseling.

Only Colorado residents who have been through residential treatment at a Valley Hope facility and are currently in, or going to start, continuing care treatment are eligible for financial aid.

“Continuing care is vitally important to sustaining long-term recovery from addiction,” said Megan O’Connor, Director of Development. “These grants will focus on Coloradans who are committed to continuing care but would have financial difficulty starting or finishing a continuing care program.

The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming through its grants program, scholarship program and ethics initiatives. Visit to learn more.

“We are very thankful to the Daniels Fund for this generous donation to provide financial assistance to our neediest patients in Colorado,” said Valley Hope President and CEO Pat George. “The struggle against addiction is never easy, but the Daniels Fund, like Valley Hope, is committed to helping people find recovery.”
