A Legacy Giving Program
The 1967 Circle honors and commemorates individuals who have committed to making a Legacy Gift for Valley Hope through their Will or Estate Plan. These generous gifts perpetuate Valley Hope and its longterm future as a life-affirming nonprofit organization.

“My father, Bill (in this photo), was Valley Hope’s first counselor, and my mother, Elaine, was the Business Manager. Planning our family’s gift through the 1967 Circle allows us the privilege of affirming their legacy of sobriety and service through the Valley Hope community.”
– Mark & Ann Knackendoffel

The Impact of a Legacy
Larry D. Wedel, deeply passionate about our mission, had directed his executors to leave the bulk of his estate to Valley Hope. His wish was to build a Valley Hope treatment center in his hometown of Moundridge, KS.
Soon after, plans were developed bringing Larry’s $4 Million Legacy Gift to life. The Valley Hope of Moundridge, Larry D. Wedel Recovery Center opened in 2010 and has helped more than 10,000 patients and their loved ones. Over 20 years later, Larry’s legacy continues to be a beacon of hope to many in south central Kansas.
Larry had no way of knowing how many families would be affected by his gift; because of his generosity, his legacy lives on every day in the lives of the patients we serve.
The 1967 Circle allows those connected to Valley Hope to fulfill the promise of hope for future generations. Gifts of every size have the ability to change lives, inspire hope, and propel the circle of recovery.
