- 2022: What's Up With Your Cup?
Which Valley Hope location did you attend?
Valley Hope of Boonville
How did the process of creating your Coffee Cup influence your treatment experience?
As I was creating it and coming up with the idea I realized how much I changed, how much I learned, how much I grew and how much I appreciated everyone who helped along the way.
What is the inspiration behind the design of your cup?
It shows a tree. One side is dark, droopy, ugly and dying which represents me when I arrived at rehab with my regrets, guilt, shame and fear. The other side shows a beautiful tree. The sun represents my higher power which came to brighten my life. The birds represent the counselors, teachers and pastors at VH that swooped in to save me! The leaves represent the steps of AA that taught me so much and stretched my growth and strengthened my conviction to stay sober. There are flowers in the grass that represent my fellow AA’s, friends and family that supported me through my transition to become the best ME I could be.
Reflecting on where you were when you first created your cup, what does your cup mean to you today?
Transition. Change. Improvement.
