Stories of Hope

At Valley Hope, we’ve helped thousands of people struggling with addiction find a path to recovery. Read their inspiring stories.

By Jerry

Changed my Ways

I was a victim. I thought there was nothing I could do to change things so I drowned my sorrows with alcohol. One DUI followed another until finally I’d had enough. I wanted help and Valley Hope took me in without judging me. I guess they’d seen it all before.

I can’t say enough good things about the staff. I was full of guilt and anger but everyone, even the other patients, gave me the space and forgiveness I needed. It allowed me to open my mind to a new way of life. Things are easier now. They showed me how to manage day to day and actually enjoy life.

My cup has “Nothing changes if nothing changes” on it. I truly believe that. Doing the next right thing is the key.

Out of the Dark

I came to Valley Hope when I just couldn’t function anymore. I’d hit bottom. I was depressed, discouraged and confused. The counselors understood how I was feeling. It gave me hope. I had a choice: work the program or go back to my old life. It was up to me.

A Day at a Time

I was sick in every way possible. Physically, mentally, spiritually, financially and emotionally. I’d run out of options and could feel the walls closing in on me so I called my husband and mother to ask for help. My mom was familiar with Valley Hope so I went there.
